We have traveled the world in pursuit of the perfect pizza. Somewhere along the way, we decided to keep track of the pizzas we've met -- those that are truly perfect and those that can only aspire to perfection. That picture? That's our daughter Cory with Carol Grimaldi at Patsy's (yup, the original) under the Brooklyn Bridge in the late 90's. Carol was training her to run the place.
We've had some pretty bad pizza over the years (Gary ordered a pizza at the Shanghai Hilton and it wasn't even a reasonable facsimile. It's like they heard about pizza and saw some pictures and tried to make one with less than wonderful results.) but Patsy's — which became Grimaldi's, which became Juliana's — is our gold standard. That's a pizza that comes as close as we've found to perfection. But we're open to trying some more ...
